| 執行方法及步驟 | Carrying out the farmers’ survey, we have interviewed 12 organic farmers from 9 organic farms, and 2 organizations (1 Association of Taiwanese indigenous People’s Development and 1 Xinyi County Farmers’ association) in Nantou from May 15th to October 25th. During the interviews, we asked organic farmers’ perception of cultural ecosystem service (CES) & 玉山 organic farmers’ cooperative, production cost of organic crops and their demographic information. After the interviews, the recorded data were transcribed and translated to English. The English interview transcribed notes will be used for organic crop production cost analysis and content analysis. We are using the online survey (choice experiment) to estimate value of cultural ecosystem services from agroecosystems (primarily grassland and cropland) in Nantou. The online survey has been initiated since November 19 and will be concluded until November 30. Collected data will be analyzed to estimate the willingness to pay to preserve cropland, which will be considered as the value of cultural ecosystem services from agroecosystems. |
| 執行績效 | Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Taiwan, especially from May to July 2021, we could not conduct the farmers’ interview and the consumer survey as planned initially. Firstly, the farmers’ survey that was planned in July had to be moved to October as researchers could not interview farmers in-person. Secondly, the consumer survey was delayed as Dr. Kim, one of co-PIs from Utah State University, who is responsible for the consumer part of the study could not come to Taiwan until early October. He joined the team at the end of October after self-quarantine, and just started the consumer survey. We have been working tirelessly on the surveys and doing our best to complete both surveys before the end of this year. |
| 結論與建議 | At this moment, we do not have any conclusions on the study as data collected from producers’ survey have not been carefully analyzed. We are conducting the consumer survey, for that reason, we do not have conclusions/suggestions of the study yet. We are sure that we will achieve the goals proposed in the proposal by the time of ENABLE workshop. |
